OUR COMPANY:

Bien Cuit is a James Beard nominated Brooklyn bakery & cafe. Our focus is on the high quality of our hand-crafted bread and pastry created by Chef Zachary Golper with our executive chefs. We are committed to sourcing practices that support regenerative agriculture and we work closely with regional farmers and millers whenever possible. We are a quickly growing company and seek team members who are hands-on and have significant experience in the Food & Beverage industry.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic baristas with great coffee skills and excellent customer service to help staff the front of house at our main retail bakery/cafe in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Previous experience in food retail will be a major plus for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Comprehensively selling our unique line of baked good
• Expertly making coffee, espresso and tea beverages
• Staying informed on all menu items. Remembering all ingredients and important production procedures of all items
• Carefully packaging cakes
• Accurately handling cash at POS
• Maintaining clean and organized work space
• Complying with all DOH regulations

• Highly skilled and consistent in all areas of coffee and tea service
• Able to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and organization behind the bar
• Able to communicate effectively with management, peers and guests

EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:

• 1+ years’ experience and proven technical expertise as a barista and counterperson
• General knowledge of register/point of sale systems
• Ability to multitask
• Flexible schedule — must work weekends

FOOD HANDLER’S LICENSE A MAJOR PLUS
