Job Description

We’re a specialty coffee company based in Red Hook, with locations in the World Trade Center and DeKalb Market Hall, with an upcoming location on St. Mark’s Place. We’re looking for seasoned Lead Baristas and Baristas who are passionate and enthusiastic about coffee and hospitality. Our ideal candidate takes ownership, provides warm and welcoming service, and most of all, is able to have fun while working under pressure. Yes, we take our coffee pretty seriously, but we want to work with folks who understand that service and hospitality are as important as the quality of the product, if not more.

General Qualifications/Requirements

• A can-do attitude, with an emphasis on teamwork
• Friendly and outgoing, but genuine
• N I C E to people, we don’t want big egos here!
• Ability to work with people from all walks of life
• Frequently lift 20-40 lbs
• *Most importantly* a love for music

Lead Barista Qualifications/Requirements

• 1-2 years specialty coffee experience
• Fast paced on bar, basic latte art (heart, tulip, rosetta)
• Intermediate understanding of batch brewing extraction
• Food Handler’s Permit necessary for Lead Barista position
• Ability to adjust to our way of brewing coffee
• Creative with a desire to grow

Barista Qualifications/Requirements

• 1-2 years hospitality or customer service
• Willingness to learn and be critiqued by others
• Basic understanding of coffee fundamentals: espresso, batch brew, cold brew, tea
• Food Handler’s preferred, but not required
