About the Company
CAMP is a retail chain built to engage and inspire young families.
CAMP combines merchandise, experience, play and media.
CAMP will open its flagship store at 110 5th ave in December 2018.
CAMP is an independent company backed by BuzzFeed.
You will be responsible for:
- Welcoming customers to the canteen and specifically the canteen’s Milk Bar.
- Educating customers on our menu including our coffee/drink selection, dessert selection and answering any questions.
- Meticulously preparing and selling coffee according to recipes and techniques that we will train you on.
- Maintaining clean and optimally performing equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing routine maintenance, and more.
- Maintaining safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards for food, drink and sanitation regulations.
- Creating and contributing to the best customer experience possible.
- Proactively suggesting process improvements to Store Management and CAMP team.
- You will report to the store’s Store Experience Manager on duty and be part of a team of Store Experience Associates.
- Depending on the day and shift, you may support additional store activities including but not limited to:
- sales and experience activities,
- managing the cash wrap and POS experience,
- operating the gift wrapping station,
- managing the stroller and coat check area.
- Storytelling and/or performing
- Assisting in floor merchandising and stock replenishment activities including maintaining an organized and stocked floor during open hours.
- Immersing and educating yourself on our product offering to ensure an in-depth knowledge of our product assortment.
- Additional support as needed. You are excited to dive in, build quickly and get shit done.
What is required?
- Ability to work at least 20 hours per week at our store. (Also accepting full time applicants)
- You have a Food Protection Certificate in New York (FPC).
- Some work experience in any of the following areas: food and beverage, cafe, catering, coffee making, retail, child care, child development/education, performing, or acting.
- Passion for the art of coffee and coffee creation.
- Excellence, enthusiasm, and excitement about engaging with children and families.
- Desire to be part of a tight knit team looking to transform the traditional retail experience.
- Holding yourself and your employees/team to high standards.
- Bonus but not required: you may have hidden talents that can add magical moments to our retail experience.
