Job Description

Maple and Rose, an all-day cafe in Mamaroneck, NY and exclusive partner of Intelligentsia Coffee Roasters, is looking for an experienced barista that is outgoing and motivated with an eye toward exceptional hospitality. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced coffee program, with keen knowledge of traditional espresso drink recipes.

The shifts for this role are two weekdays plus Friday, Saturday, Sunday. All morning shifts, weekdays starting at 7 am, Saturday and Sunday starting at 8 am.

$13/hour + Gratuities ($7-10/hr on average)
Paid Vacation (5 days per year)
Full-time employees preferred (30+ hours per week)

Coffee and tea service are central to the offering at Maple and Rose. Our baristas will hone their craft in making top quality beverages for our guests and play a key role in our energetic team focused on providing excellent customer service. You’ll have the opportunity to be part of a fun atmosphere where both customers and employees have a welcoming and engaging experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Preparation and service of coffee, tea, soft drinks, beer and wine
Responsible for inventory of all beverage supplies
Willing and able to assist other FOH staff with service and side work when needed.
Any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor

Skills and Requirements
1 year of experience as a barista
Technical skill in coffee and tea making and operating an espresso machine, executing a variety of coffee and tea beverages
Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
Presentable appearance and respectable demeanor
Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day
Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time on a regular basis
High school diploma/GED preferred

Featuring dine-in, takeout, delivery, catering and a small marketplace, the menus are all built around top quality seasonal ingredients, many of which will be sourced from local farms and purveyors. Each element of the restaurant shares the founding partners beliefs in the importance of comfortable settings and healthy, market-inspired menus. The first location opened in early 2019 in Mamaroneck, NY.
