Shop is looking for an experienced Cafe Supervisor! We are an Australian cafe based in Williamsburg with a focus on delicious food and specialty coffee. We are a small, collaborative team that loves our community and we’re looking for a person with similar values. 2+ years in specialty coffee is a must and some managerial experience is beneficial. Compensation will be based on experience.

Responsibilities include:
– Collaboration with GM on coffee ordering / beverage menu development
– Checking inventory levels and placing orders with suppliers when required
– Point of contact for customers/authorities
– Ensuring fellow staff members are keeping busy!
– Managing incoming food and beverage orders and communicating with the team

Barista / Serving:
– Making the entire beverage menu to order, consistent presentation of beverages
– Taking orders, running completed orders out to customers, clearing tables

Kitchen Prep/Cooking:
– Assistance with daily prep of ingredients for all menu items (eg. peeling eggs, vegetable prep etc) – making smoothies and other menu items when needed
– Keeping pastry cabinet stocked and clean

Maintenance & Cleaning:
– Dishwashing throughout the day
– End of day pack down of kitchen/bar
– Re-stocking
– Cleaning of all kitchen equipment, work surfaces, range hood baffles
– Ensuring equipment is packed down and cleaned properly after close of kitchen each day, moving and cleaning rubber floor mats, mopping floors
– Removal of trash/recycling at end of day

Dept of Health / COVID:
– Ensuring DOH and COVID standards and protocols are being kept and met
– Daily checks on all DOH requirements (sanitation bucket, fridge thermometers)
