Bright Side is an all-day cafe and restaurant located in Brooklyn, New York. By fusing extensive backgrounds in the Australian coffee and the American culinary industries, we have created a fresh and warmly welcomed offering in the already vibrant food and beverage community of Williamsburg. We are a multi-roaster cafe, currently offering coffees from Proud Mary and Counter Culture Coffee.

We are looking for someone to head our Front of House team and collaborate with the GM on ordering, beverage development and inventory. As the face of the cafe you’ll be a confident and positive point of contact for our regulars and new customers. 2+ years in specialty coffee is a must and some managerial experience is beneficial. Compensation will be based on experience. NYC Food Handler’s certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities include:
– Collaboration with GM on coffee ordering / beverage menu development
– Checking inventory levels and placing orders with suppliers when required
– Point of contact for customers/authorities
– Ensuring fellow staff members are keeping busy!

Barista / Serving:
– Making the entire beverage menu to order, consistent presentation of beverages
– Table service; seating guests, bringing menus, taking orders
– Running completed orders out to customers, clearing tables

Food Handling:
– Keeping pastry cabinet stocked and clean

Maintenance & Cleaning:
– End of day pack down of bar, espresso machine
– Re-stock
– Moving and cleaning rubber floor mats, mopping floors

Dept of Health / COVID:
– Ensuring DOH and COVID standards and protocols are being kept and met
– Daily checks on all DOH requirements (sanitation bucket, fridge thermometers)
