Full-Time Coffee Shop General Manager
Job Description
We are looking for leaders with an earnest desire to share coffee, pastries, and delightful experiences with all those in search of deliciousness! Our Coffee Shop Leads will be responsible for the overall success of our stores. Responsibilities include continued training and developing all baristas and team members for their respective location, ensuring all our guests at the cafe experience exceptional hospitality, and leading the shop to be successful against our financial and operational goals.
You will:
Build, develop, inspire, and retain an incredible team, regularly giving and receiving positive and constructive feedback and coaching your baristas to develop and be their best.
Ensure every guest at your shop has a wonderfully hospitable experience, and continually find ways to coach your team to go above and beyond in exceeding guest expectations
Drive strong and ever improving financial performance of your shop, finding ways to expand the reach of your shop and be as efficient as possible in doing it.
Collaborate with other teams at Birch to creatively engage your community, deepening relationships with regular guests and welcoming first timers!
Ensure we always meet our high standards of quality and deliciousness for every drink and food item served in your shop, through regular tasting and help from other team members.
Work on bar and on the floor, not only to help the team in busy moments but to stay constantly connected to the heart of our work and find ways to continually improve it.
Oversee all ordering including coffee, milk, pastries, inventory, etc. ensuring that we are always able to meet the requests of our guests while never wasting anything

You are articulate and effective in your written and verbal communications to people at all levels of the company – you get to the point but do it with confidence and kindness.
You’re an enthusiastic collaborator who loves drawing upon and learning from the input of other Coffee Shop Leads and Birch teams, and being part of something bigger than themselves.
