Full-Time Manager (Cafe/Retail/Florist space)
Job Description
Homecoming is a mixed use cafe/retail space with locations in Greenpoint and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We’re looking for a Manager for our Greenpoint location. The position is full time, 5 days a week. Weekend availability and general flexibility are a must. Hours for the position are Monday – Friday 8am-6:30pm Sat & Sunday 9am-6:30pm.
With this position you will need to have experience and knowledge in both specialty coffee and floral experience. Overseeing daily managerial duties and providing customer service/sales. Experience in retail is a must, and previous café and/or floral management experience will be prioritized.
As Manager you will be dealing with our selection of plants, coffee, home goods and flowers along with your team to help you execute the day. Organizing products, receiving merchandise, fulfilling online orders, making floral arrangements, taking daily care of plants, and making sure that the store is always restocked, are a few of the duties that you will have to handle daily. You must be able to stand for long periods of time, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists, carry up to 5-15 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally up and down stairs, and interact with customers for at least nine hours a day- five days a week.

Qualifications
* Train and Manage staff
* 1+ year management experience, in cafe, floral or other food service industries required.
* Understands specialty coffee, quality and service.
* Effective communication skills, including the ability to present constructive feedback to staff
* Experience building high functioning diverse teams
* An approachable people-person with a high level of emotional intelligence, patience, compassion and problem solving skills
* Must be able to stand for long periods of time, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists, carry up to 5-15 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally up and down stairs, and interact with customers for at least nine hours a day- five days a week.
* Computer Savvy – Feels comfortable with technology including POS and inventory management systems
* Food handlers required
Responsibilities
* The Store Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management and operations of the retail, floral & cafe including building a talented team who is able deliver a one-of-a-kind customer experience for everyone that visits.
* Motivate, lead, and hold team accountable to high-performance expectations
* Foster a respectful, inclusive and fun environment for customers and employees
* Operate within budget and share data-driven ideas for increasing revenue and maximizing profitability with leadership
* Understands the importance of cleanliness and the vision of the store
* Maintain record-keeping, cash-handling, inventory management, and food safety procedures
* Sets the conditions for exceptional hospitality including friendliness, cleanliness, speed of service, and beverage quality
* Work with vendors and purveyors to manage all stock and supplies to support cafe/retail/floral operations
* Creates a productive work enviorment through consistent coaching and training of there team.
* Other duties as assigned
