Full-Time Manager
Job Description
Bluebird Coffee Shop, a well-established third-wave coffee shop in the East Village, seeks
a highly effective and motivated coffee professional to serve as manager of the store.
WE ARE:
Part of the third wave coffee movement for five years, serving Counter Culture, using the most sought-after single origins as espresso and filter coffee, in an Australian style (lots of flat whites).
Dedicated to creating a friendly, wholesome neighborhood-oriented environment, focused on excellent customer service, with beautiful, elegant interiors.
Also a bakery, which churns out the best muffins, scones, bars, cakes in the entire city.
Part of a team of restaurants, including Milk Bar, Sunshine Co, Rosella, and Brunswick(s).
YOU ARE:
A barista with a well-established track record of creating excellent coffee, comfortable dialing in single-origin espressos.
Someone with a passion for coffee, no stranger to the NYC scene (or perhaps you recently moved to the city).
Someone who is great with customers, genuinely enjoys people, and understands how to make customers from a wide span of personalities and backgrounds all feel comfortable and happy with their coffee experience.
Someone with experience managing staff, or comfortable doing so. You must be flexible, but also quick and cool on your feet, greeting any problems with solutions, willing to take responsibility for tasks large and small, and effective in teaching others to do so.
Food Handler’s certified.
Someone with an attention to detail. In managing a store, the biggest problems usually stem from forgetting the smallest details.
We want people who can see the big picture, are naturally outgoing, friendly, responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. We have an excellent staff and pride ourselves on our professionalism, we expect you to follow suit.
