Job Description

St. Jardim is a wine bar and cafe in the West Village. We’re a small, fun team on a busy corner bringing craft coffee, low intervention wine, and seasonal dishes to our neighborhood.

We’ve developed a great coffee program since opening a year ago and are busy both with takeout in the morning and locals who hang out in the cafe and at the bar. Our focus is high-craft coffee served in an elevated but approachable way. We rotate roasters and are currently serving Little Wolf, Carrier and Sey. We’re looking for someone to lead our program and maintain high quality service of coffee/tea and a fun, happy team. We have a full kitchen during the day and are a natural wine bar at night.

Responsibilities include:
– Coffee and tea curation and ordering, including partnering with roasters and overall coffee direction
– Training new baristas and maintaining standards / quality control of coffee program
– Work with GM to design and manage key processes for inventory, opening, and closing
– Hosting weekly cuppings and setting the tone for our coffee program – highest quality in an approachable/neighborhood format

Experience required:
– Passion for high quality coffee and service
– Dialing in espresso and drip coffee
– Working with TDS to maintain quality control
– Proficient milk texturing and latte art
– Tea and matcha knowledge
– Previous experience as a shift lead or lead barista
– Any interest in natural wine is a plus!

Pay based on experience and growth opportunities available! Ideally available for 4 shifts per week but can be a mix of morning and afternoon.
