Liz’s Book Bar is a Black-owned and woman-owned bookstore, café, and wine bar recently opened in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. We are looking for enthusiastic team members to join our growing team. If you have experience in the coffee industry and love books, this is an ideal position. Our baristas and bartenders provide exemplary customer service and help shelve books, suggest inventory, and provide book recommendations. There is opportunity for growth within the organization.

Compensation: $16/hour plus $8-10/hour tips

Requirements:
-NYC Food Handler’s license (completed or in progress)
-A basic understanding of milk steaming techniques
-Knowledge of a standard coffee menu
-Comfortable working on a La Marzocco Linea Classic S 2AV and with a Mazzer grinder
-Excellent customer service and ability to learn quickly on the job

Responsibilities:
-Prepare drinks to order in a fast-paced environment
-Complete orders and transactions in accordance with Liz’s Book Bar standards
-Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
-Restock and maintain inventory logs
-Ability to open and close the shop independently
