Avabrew (featuring Oren’s Coffee) is seeking a part-time barista with specialty coffee experience. Our ideal candidate has a great attitude, experience working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in hospitality, and loves coffee. Shop is open from 7a-5p M-F and 8a-5p S-S.

We are a pretty low-stress, tight-knit group here. We’re all proud of the high-quality coffee and food we serve, have great relationships with our regulars, but also have interests outside of working in a coffee shop. Looking for someone with a similarly relaxed, but attentive vibe!

As a manager, I can tell you that I stress a good work-life balance. I very, very rarely text anyone outside of their working hours and I don’t do awkward, time-consuming team meetings.

Our ideal candidate:
– Experience in high-volume specialty coffee
– Experience dialing in espresso
– Ability to stay on task when working alone or as part of a team
– Attention to detail
– Takes pride in providing great customer service
– Accurately and consistently prepares all of our beverage offerings
– Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills
– Loves coffee. We roast very high quality coffee
– Must have NYC Food Handlers Certificate or willingness to get one

Compensation:
– From $16.50-$18.00 per hour + $8-$9 per hour from tips

Schedule needs:
– Part time (around 15-25 hours a week)
– Available to work starting as early as 630AM
– Weekend availability required

Physical Demands:
– Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry heavy objects (up to 40 Lbs)
