About Poetica:

Poetica started with one little coffee shop and a big idea: to build something real, human, and community-rooted. We’ve grown into multiple locations and now we’re hitting the road — literally — with our mobile food truck. It’s coffee, food, and vibes on wheels, and we need someone grounded, dependable, and passionate to lead the way.

Role Summary:

We’re looking for a Team Leader who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty — or lift a few heavy boxes. Someone who can drive the truck, lead a small crew, keep the workflow smooth, and help serve up amazing coffee and food with warmth and precision.

What You’ll Do:

Truck + Setup
• Drive the mobile truck to and from event locations, safely and on time
• Handle setup/breakdown: generators, equipment, water tanks, coolers (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs)
• Conduct safety and cleanliness checks on the truck before and after service

Leadership
• Lead a team of 1–3 baristas or cooks on shift
• Maintain morale, pace, and quality during service
• Train and onboard new mobile team members when needed

Service + Hospitality
• Jump in on the line — take orders, make drinks, prep food, keep things flowing
• Represent Poetica’s values and tone — real, respectful, no gimmicks
• Make sure every guest interaction feels like something human, not just transactional

Logistics
• Track inventory, report supply needs, and restock the truck as needed
• Coordinate with kitchen and warehouse teams for prep and replenishment

Who You Are:
• Experienced: 1+ year in food service, ideally with leadership or mobile unit experience
• Licensed: Valid driver’s license with clean record; comfortable driving large vehicles in NYC
• Strong: Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and move heavy items daily
• Calm Under Pressure: Service gets hectic — you stay focused and clear-headed
• Customer-Focused: You care about people, not just coffee
• Organized: You think ahead, manage time well, and don’t leave things for the next shift
