Job Description

High Beam is a Brooklyn-based roastery, café and
community space dedicated to vibrant, intentionally
sourced coffee and offering a welcoming space to our
community. With a focus on progressive roasting and
brewing methods and sustainable sourcing practices, we
aim to create a best in class coffee program that radiates
kindness from our products, team and spaces.

We are seeking full and part time baristas for our Roastery Cafe in Redhook, Brooklyn.

As a barista at High Beam you will be working closely with our Roastery, creating a direct feedback loop from green coffee to final beverage. We are looking for candidates that are open to seeing coffee in new ways and have a strong desire to keep learning and growing their technical and service skills. We are happy to train suitable people interested in developing high level barista skills, even if you don’t have direct barista experience. People looking to transition from corporate or non specialty coffee environments into a more intentional, specialty coffee environment are also welcome to apply.

***Please note that weekend availability is an absolute must for this position.***

Responsibilities:
–Provide friendly, accommodating service to all guests.
-Dial in espresso and other brew methods to meet and maintain quality standards
-Develop strong working relationships with your team through support and professionalism
-Maintain work area and equipment to a high degree of cleanliness
-Participate in cuppings and tastings to remain current and knowledgeable about our products
-General housekeeping, opening and closing tasks
