Coffee Supervisor

Overview
The Coffee Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for maintaining exceptional coffee quality, elevating the guest experience, and supporting daily café operations. This role bridges barista craft and floor leadership—ensuring every drink meets the Toby’s Estate standards while driving team performance and service consistency.

Key Responsibilities
-Uphold and execute all espresso and brew standards (dialing in, yield, extraction, milk texturing, latte art, pour over)
-Lead daily calibration and tasting routines with the team
-Maintain deep knowledge of coffee origins, processing methods, and seasonal offerings
-Ensure all beverages are prepared to spec with consistency and efficiency

Service & Guest Experience
-Set the tone for warm, polished, and high-energy service on the floor
-Anticipate guest needs and coach team members in real-time

Team Leadership
-Supervise shifts, delegate positions, and manage flow during peak service
-Train and mentor baristas on coffee knowledge, workflow, and hospitality
-Support onboarding of new hires and reinforce service standards
-Provide feedback that improves both technical skill and confidence

Operations & Systems
-Open and close the café, ensuring readiness and cleanliness at all times
-Support inventory management, ordering, and waste control
-Work with systems such as MarketMan, Deliverect, Square POS, and mobile ordering platforms
-Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company standards

Business Performance
-Drive efficiency without compromising quality
-Support labor management and productivity on shift
-Identify opportunities to improve workflow, speed, and sales

Qualifications
-4+ years in specialty coffee or high-volume café environments
-Strong espresso and barista fundamentals (dialing in, latte art, brew methods)
-Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
-Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume service
-Passion for hospitality and specialty coffee culture
