Full-Time Assistant Manager/Barista
Job Description
PORTS Coffee & Tea is a specialty espresso bar in the heart of Chelsea. We are famous for the nicest baristas serving the best coffee in NYC and are looking for a professional, reliable, hospitality-centered assistant manager/barista to join our tight-knit family-run team and take our customers further in their coffee journey. PLEASE NOTE: Specialty coffee experience is a MUST. Applicants without a specialty coffee background will not be considered.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU
You are a coffee professional who has worked in the specialty coffee industry for a minimum of one year and has leadership experience. You understand coffee on a fundamental level and can speak passionately and accurately about single origin beans, brew properly extracted coffee, pull consistent espresso and make attractive latte art. You have an open mind, you’re humble, and can take feedback well. You have to love people, have excellent customer service skills and demonstrate a can-do attitude. You care about the environment and understand why making great coffee contributes positively to our world. You understand that making quality coffee should never get in the way of serving a customer with kindness, and make sure every transaction is hospitable and warm. You have a passion for life that you want to share with every customer who walks in the door.
