About LAOBRA
LAOBRA is a hospitality company reimagined for makers. Our mission is to build thoughtful spaces and tools that nurture the creative process. We operate a commercial photo production studio in Bushwick, a specialty coffee and natural wine café opening in Fort Greene beginning of January 2027, and a newly formed wholesale and direct-to-consumer specialty coffee program rooted in Latin American origins.

The Role
LAOBRA Café is a living room for makers. We will serve coffee by day, and natural wine by evening. As a barista, you’ll work with exceptional single-origin coffees, precise equipment, and a team that takes both coffee and hospitality very seriously — while building real connections with guests who care deeply about what they drink and the spaces they spend their time in.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver warm, genuine hospitality with every guest interaction — our regulars should feel known, not processed
• Guide guests through our rotating single-origin coffee menu — origins, processing methods, and flavor in approachable, conversational ways
• Dial in and prepare espresso and filter coffee, maintaining precise recipe control and extraction consistency
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized bar area in full compliance with NYC DOHMH standards
• Support the daily transition from coffee service to natural wine service
• Support knowledge-sharing and coffee education across the team

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a high volume specialty café environment
• Genuine curiosity about coffee origins, processing methods, and flavor
• Has, or is willing to obtain, their NYC Food Protection Certificate

• Wage: $20/hour + tips
• Availability: Part-time, 24 – 32 hours/week
• Location: Fort Greene, Brooklyn based
