Full-Time Blue Bottle High Line Barista
Job Description
Blue Bottle Coffee Company is hiring for our High Line Cart in Manhattan. We are looking for customer service minded professionals that posses a passion for specialty coffee. This is a seasonal position that begins mid March (coffee training) and ends the beginning of November. We are currently looking for part-time to full-time baristas.
The High Line Cart will operate 7 days a week starting April 15th. This job requires a lot of lifting and transporting in a mobile environment. Definitely a position for folks who like the outdoors and physical activity.

Blue Bottle’s performance expectations for a Barista are:
Providing impeccable customer service skills.
Being extremely punctual, tidy and clean in appearance (adhering to the Blue Bottle uniform policy at all times)
Working in a small team to prepare and serve beverages and pastries from the coffee bar.
Staying current with Blue Bottle’s coffee offerings through cuppings and information provided to you by your Lead Barista, Location Manager, and the Training Department.
Dialing in and serving a variety of coffees in a variety of different brewing methods including but not limited to: espresso, pour over, and cold brew.
Maintaining and organizing all service ware and serving areas.
Attending a minimum of one cupping per week.
Submiting daily Barista logs.
Maintaining a clean bar and café space.
Closing out daily sales.
Successfully completing a Barista Jury.
Being professional at all times and in all situations.
Acting as a representative of Blue Bottle at all times.
Bing able to build long lasting professionally healthy relationships.
Seeking out supportive advice, direction and guidance from your direct manager regularly.
Attending meetings as required and request meetings as you need them.
Collaborating with all other members of the company professionally, respectfully and with integrity.
Demonstrating exemplary communication skills – in person, on the phone, by email, in text messages or when using any other communication tool.
Consistently meeting commitments in a timely and professional manner.
Accepting constructive criticism well and offer it to others professionally and respectfully.
Being flexible and jumping in wherever needed even if the tasks fall outside of your job description.

Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Basic math and computer skills.
1 year of experience working in specialty coffee or equivalent prefered.
NYC ‘Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection’ a plus.
