Passionfruit Coffee is a gratuity-included specialty coffee shop in Bed-Stuy that focuses heavily on hospitality. We care a great deal about the small details that create a consistently excellent experience. We pride ourselves on pulling perfect shots, pouring latte art and making every syrup and pastry in-house, all while focusing on hospitality and giving our guests a great experience. We are a fast-paced neighborhood cafe with lovely regulars.

We’re looking for a baker/barista to join our small team who cares about hospitality and takes pride in their work, someone who will show up enthusiastically and is eager to learn. This position will have baking/pastry specific production days as well as days working on the register taking orders. This position is primarily a baking positions but for those interested, we will also train you to be a barista. Duties will include (but aren’t limited to) taking orders on the register, mixing, baking and finishing pastries, making syrups, supporting your teammates.

This is a bit of a unique roll and we are happy to train an enthusiastic candidate who is excited to learn and grow in the hospitality industry! Ideal person will be motivated to learn, enjoy doing a variety of different tasks week to week, and will be interested in the moving parts of what it takes to make a small coffee shop run.

The role will be part time, ~20-30hrs/week.

Requirements:

2+ years hospitality experience, BOH and/or barista experience preferred
Open availability (Weekends are required)
Willing to be flexible and cover last minute shifts when needed (part of being on a small
team)
Desire to grow with us
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Able to work open and closing shifts
NYC Food Handler Card (or willing to obtain within first 90 days)
