Job Description

Black Lab Cafe, a dog themed cafe and limited service restaurant, is looking for a barista who is as passionate about coffee and customer service as we are! This is a part-time position, which requires some experience with barista knowledge and abilities, as well as, superior customer service. Open availability preferred.

Responsibilities
-Collaborating with staff to create an excellent customer service experience. (Warm greetings, efficient service, menu knowledge, POS systems, etc.)
-Making and serving high quality coffee and tea based beverages, and help delivering these orders to customers in the dining room and outdoor patio.
-Calibrating brewing equipment as needed.
-Complying with cleanliness, health, and safety regulations.
-Communicating regularly with management regarding inventory, suggestions, issues, and happenings of the day.
-Flexibility with scheduling is preferred
-Opening and closing the store given standard procedures

Skills
2+ Years NYC Barista Experience. (preferred)
Basic knowledge of brewing equipment and techniques.
Basic knowledge of coffees and teas.
Basic food and allergen knowledge.
DoH and DoL compliance.
Basic math skills.
Excellent communication skills.
High school diploma; relevant training is a plus.

Job Types: Part-time.

Pay: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour + Tips
