Job Description

Cafe Devocion is the leading Colombian boutique coffee company. We are opening our first Roaster/coffee shop in the USA in September, at 69 grand street in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Our Baristas will be working with around 8 to 10 different types of Colombian coffees, all coming from rare and secluded areas around Colombia, and will have the chance to prepare exclusive fresh green beans, roasted freshly every day/week (all of our coffees are 10 to 30 days old green beans compared to  3 – 12 months old green beans which is the industry standard in the US).

Equipment used in the coffee shop:

• Idrocompressor Mirage espresso machines (lever machine)
• Mahlkonig grinders
• Mazzer Grinders
• Excelcius Espresso Machine (temperature profiling)

Requirements

• Is completely in love with coffee.
• At least 2 years as a barista in a specialty coffee shop (high level certifications and experience pays better).
• Positive attitude, always happy, dedicated to teaching and taking care of the costumer.
• Wants to learn and grow as a barista/ always willing to learn and teach.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Honest.
• Work well in a team.
• Is capable of providing excellent and friendly customer service
• Focused and able to multitask.
• Be able to work in an organized fashion in a fast paced place.
• Experience with all extraction methods.
• Knowledge of cleaning and maintenance espresso machines. (Not a requirement but will pay more for experience)
• Assist in production and perform other duties as assigned

Compensation

• We pay anywhere from $10 to $14 dollars per hour (based on experience as baristas and retail management skills).
