We are from Australia and have over 21 years of experience in specialty coffee as roasters and café owners of businesses that are still operating to this day. Does that matter? Absolutely not. We source and roast our own coffee, and we take great pride in everything that we do. You will be working alongside the owners and roasters from Dae Day.
We’re looking for baristas who are self-driven, punctual, and hard-working. Ideally, you’d be a great barista with experience in high-quality, high-volume environments. Even more ideally, you’d be a great human being with good energy and a genuine love for coffee AND people.
We’re looking to partner with the right candidates long-term as we aim to open shops throughout the city.

The above represents the expected hourly range for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your experience and other job-related factors.

What you’ll do:

* Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks using various preparation techniques and equipment
* Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately
* Maintain inventory and manage storage and supplies
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace
* Ensure customer satisfaction by catering to guests’ needs
* Follow health and safety guidelines when handling food and beverages

What we need from you:

* Willingness and openness to change the way you make coffee
* Skill and confidence in operating and maintaining coffee equipment
* Experience in high-quality, high-volume environments
* Good energy and a genuine love for coffee AND people
* Keep the café in constant compliance with NYC DOH standards, meeting the highest expectations upon inspection
* Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
* Experience in handling cash and credit transactions
* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand on your feet for up to 7-8 hours per day
* Familiarity with the Square POS system is a plus
* Willingness to learn about different coffees and brewing techniques

Experience:

* Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
* Barista experience: 1 year (Required); if you don’t have it, still shoot your shot!

Work Commencement: Late October
Shift Availability: Monday to Friday, between 7 AM and 5 PM. Weekends as required.
