What We’re Looking For
2–3 years of specialty coffee experience preferred
Warm, approachable, and hospitality-driven personality
Genuine passion for coffee, food, and guest experience
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and stay organized during solo coverage
Calm, focused, and solutions-oriented under pressure
Strong work ethic and reliability
Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs comfortably
Experience working with La Marzocco or comparable espresso equipment preferred
NYC Food Protection Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Responsibilities

As a Barista at Polly’s, you’ll play a key role in creating a warm, efficient, and welcoming experience for every guest who walks through our doors.

Responsibilities include:

Preparing espresso drinks, teas, and other specialty beverages with consistency, care, and attention to quality
Delivering thoughtful, friendly, and efficient hospitality
Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked workspace throughout service
Following all food safety, sanitation, and operational standards
Developing strong knowledge of our coffee, pastry, and food offerings to confidently guide guests
Supporting smooth day-to-day café operations and maintaining service standards during busy periods
Assisting with opening and closing responsibilities with diligence and attention to detail
Demonstrating initiative with restocking, cleaning, prep, and routine operational tasks
Contributing ideas and feedback that help improve systems, workflow, and guest experience
Supporting onboarding and training of new team members when needed

Compensation based on level of experience(we’re looking baristas across all levels), and generous tips
