BOYFRIEND co-op is looking to hire an experienced barista! As a barista, you’ll be responsible for creating and fostering a welcoming environment through excellent customer service, crafting creative and classic coffee drinks, and maintaining the overall ambiance of the space. You will also actively participate in the co-op’s collective decision-making processes, contributing to both the daily operations and long-term goals of the cafe. Our program will be focused on providing high quality coffee with a welcoming and approachable vibe. We will pour the classics, along with specialty and seasonal coffee drinks and a curated selection of tea. We also serve food from a small, in-house menu that is largely vegan.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

– Minimum 2 years of barista experience (specialty coffee experience is a plus, and so is management or shift lead experience)
– 2-4 shifts a week with opportunity to grow into 5 days a week
– Flexible start date in between Sept-Nov
– Experience working in co-ops, finances, and/or culinary backgrounds are preferred

We are also looking for people who are:

– Interested in bartending, learning about finances, event planning, and/or culinary

Pay is $17/hour tipped base plus tips, with a guaranteed floor of $27/hour: when a slow shift comes in under that, we make up the difference.
