Kaigo Coffee Room is looking for a passionate, reliable, and skilled Barista to join our team.

We’re a specialty coffee shop located by the water at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Heights, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality coffee, thoughtful hospitality, and creating a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere.

Part-time positions are currently available, with the possibility of discussing full-time hours for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

– Dial in espresso, steam milk, and prepare coffee and other beverages according to company recipes and quality standards.
– Create a warm, welcoming experience for every guest through friendly and attentive service.
– Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee bar and service area.
– Accurately and efficiently process transactions using our POS system.
– Communicate clearly with teammates and proactively support the team during busy service.
– Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
– Help maintain the overall quality, organization, and flow of daily café operations.

Qualifications:

– Previous barista or specialty coffee experience preferred.
– Familiarity with espresso preparation, milk steaming, and coffee equipment.
– Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
– Ability to stay calm, focused, and organized in a fast-paced environment.
– Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team.
– Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings as needed.
– Weekend availability is required.
– NYC Food Handler’s Certificate, or willingness to obtain one upon hiring.
