Job Description

Bluebird is looking for a barista with the following qualifications.

1. Two years specialty coffee experience. This means you can dial in espresso (we use mostly Single Origins) and diagnose over/under extraction with great confidence. At the same time, you’re not competitive or alienating with your coffee knowledge. You can steam microfoam and pour latte art (heart, tulip, rosetta, etc…) and it doesn’t slow you down. Be fast and effective behind the bar. It’s how we make it work.

2. Be comfortable moving almost constantly in a small space. There are tables and chairs to be straightened, surfaces to wipe down, sugars to fill, debris to sweep, all of it. You should care about the state of the cafe aesthetically. Make it perfect!

3. We serve food, so there is non-barista work to do in support of our little kitchen/bakery. You will not just be hanging out behind the machine.

We have great hours 7a-6p and great regulars and we have a great time. It’s great.

11/hr plus solid tips and a shift meal.
