Box Kite, an industry-leading multi-roaster cafe, is looking for an enthusiastic coffee professional to join our team. Responsibilities/qualifications include but are not limited to: being a good person; having a strong work ethic/self-reliance; ability to collaborate extensively on developing a bomb-ass coffee program in NYC; not having to even be told to clean the toilets because we’re all in this together; like, actually wanting to be involved in the larger specialty coffee community; relentlessly developing your palate like holy wow; being able to translate advanced coffee knowledge into accessible, unintimidating language; actively participating in our food/wine/beer programs; not being a technophobe/luddite… ETC!

We work with the best coffee roasters–including some stuff you won’t find anywhere else in NYC. Folks like Madcap, Ritual, Heart, Bar Nine, Mountain Air, George Howell, Coffee Collective, Square Mile… the list goes on.

We work with the best equipment. EK43s, custom Synessos… we regularly calibrate our palates together using VST software and refractometers to set the baseline.

We strive to be articulate, confident, precise, and knowledgeable coffee hospitalitarians.

Basically, if coffee is more than *just* your side-gig, even if it is your side gig, then let’s talk.

Yr gonna need to have or quickly acquire your NY Food Handlers permit.

Very competitive hourly starting rates.
