Koneko, America’s first Japanese Cat Cafe, is opening on the Lower East Side at the end of October.

We have a beautiful, architect-designed space and a full equipment setup to provide a premium coffee and tea experience. Koneko has partnered with Stumptown for coffee/espresso, and In Pursuit of Tea for an assortment of rare and hand-picked teas.

Our coffee setup includes a La Marzocco linea 2ee, with Mazzer and Bunn grinders.

We are currently looking for passionate and talented Baristas to join our team. The role calls for driven individuals who have a love for producing expertly brewed premium coffee and tea.

Bonus if you like cats as well! The other areas of our space will house twenty adoptable cats that have been rescued from the City’s euthanasia list. Guests will enjoy our curated food and beverage menu in the company of cute kitties.

We are looking for candidates with the following prerequisites:

• At least one year experience in New York’s coffee / tea scene
• An understanding of espresso equipment (ideally have worked with a Marzocco), grinders, tea brewing, and general maintenance
• A passion and ability to produce high quality coffee and tea beverages
• A team player and excellent communicator who enjoys working with a like-minded, capable team, as well as a knack for providing quality customer service and promoting a wonderful environment for our guests
