America’s first Japanese Cat Café is hiring Baristas.

Located on the Lower East Side, Koneko has a top-flight beverage program, including coffee from Stumptown coffee, tea from In Pursuit of Tea, Japanese beer, sake, and wine – and a big, furry family of adoptable cats.

We are seeking committed, friendly, reliable, and experienced Baristas for our one of a kind café.

The ideal candidate takes pride in providing excellent customer service. Baristas must have experience with third-wave coffee, coffee and espresso processes, dialing in, proficiency in steaming milk / latte art and tea brewing.

This position is part time and calls for 2-3 shifts a week. Must be available to work weekends.

Responsibilities:

Be a compelling educator about, and prepare and serve, our coffee/tea program.

Be a compelling educator about, and prepare and serve, a variety of Japanese beers, sakes, and wine.

Act with creativity, grace, and a serious passion for hospitality

Demonstrate a love for Cats and a comaraderie with Cat People.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year experience as a Barista in a NYC café
