Merriweather Coffee + Kitchen, an Australian-owned specialty coffee shop in the West Village, is looking for an experienced barista to join the team.

About us: Our mission is to provide each of our guests with a sensational five-minute break in their crazy New York day.  We have created a bright, modern and welcoming space, inspired by the trendy beach cafes of Sydney and the craftsman culture of Brooklyn.  We offer the highest quality coffee and food program in the city modeled on the quintessential laid-back and unpretentious Australian café experience.  This month we were named in Zagat’s Top 10 Hottest Cafes in New York City.

Our coffee program is off-the-hook. We have invested in cutting-edge tools to make sure our guests get the best coffee possible, every time. For the coffee nerds out there, we were the first café in NYC to have the latest La Marzocco Linea PB with Auto-Brew-Ratio scales in the drip tray (say what!), and Mahlkonig Peak grinders!  We also have a pour-over program, batch-brew and cold-brew using our EK-43.

Not a coffee nerd but love people and hospitality? Great, we want you too (but you’ve got to love coffee).  Our amazing in-house coffee training is also complemented by our partnership with Counter Culture and their Counter Intelligence coffee training program offered to all our baristas.  We feature guest roasters such as Tandem from Maine and Lofted from Brooklyn.

Barista Position: We are recruiting a professional and dedicated personality who wishes to progress their skills and knowledge whilst bringing their own passion and enthusiasm for coffee and hospitality to a quickly growing new cafe.

You should also be able to:

– Prove your experience in a similar environment

– Be very fast, efficient, clean and work very well under continuous pressure

– Enjoy chatting with our hundreds of regulars who treat our staff like family
