Café Erzulie is a new Haitian inspired Café and Flowershop, located at 894 Broadway in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. We are seeking experienced baristas, who are passionate, hardworking and excited about joining an innovative team that cares deeply about its coffee.

As a new café in Brooklyn, Cafe Erzulie is seeking Baristas that are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a fresh space. Barista’s will be asked for their creative input, and will have a chance to cultivate the vibe and culture of the Café.

Through our partnership with Devocion Coffee, baristas at Café Erzulie will also get the chance to work and train alongside some of NYC best baristas and coffee experts. Baristas will learn about the history and origin of coffee and gain a deep knowledge about the coffee industry.  The ideal candidates for this position are baristas that are familiar with the Bed-Stuy community, curious and looking to work in a fun, stimulating and inventive environment.

Core Responsibilities:

-Greeting all customers with a friendly smile and providing quick, friendly, and personal service.

-Dialing in and maintaining consistent Espresso extraction as per brew ratios.

-Drink and menu item preparation.

-Preparing basic menu items, such as pastries, sandwiches and made to order salads.

-Oversee store operations, including payment processing, opening and closing duties, sales numbers and inventory levels.

Experience and Qualifications:

-Minimum 1 year experience as an NYC Barista

-Minimum 2 years in customer service, preferably within food and beverage industry

-Outstanding interpersonal skills. Have the ability to build strong relationships with customers.

-Experience crafting specialty espresso beverages and understanding of extraction

-Experience and ability to use Point of Sale systems

-Basic Latte art skills and milk steaming knowledge a plus

-New York Food Handlers Certificate a plus

– Weekends, evenings, holidays and flexible scheduling and availability is required
