Full-Time Barista

Job Description

We are a small specialty coffee company that has been rapidly expanding in the past year. We already operate several high-volume coffee shops in Manhattan and we’re preparing to open another in the coming months. 

We have openings for barista shifts at all of our stores, both morning and afternoon shifts, both part-time (minimum of two shifts per week) and full-time.  We will give preference to those who have at least one weekend day of availability. 
 
We must emphasize that all of our stores are extremely busy, so you must be prepared to work efficiently in a very fast-paced, demanding environment. 
 
No prior or extensive experience is necessary, as we provide comprehensive barista training both at our training lab and in the stores. We also expect all of our baristas, regardless of their experience or skill level, to commit themselves to ongoing professional development by regularly attending classes and training sessions (for which you’ll get paid!). 
 
Compensation is hourly (and competitive), plus tips, and depends largely on your experience and training. 
 
We are seeking people who are:
  •  Nice, friendly and personable, and who both understand the importance of and can demonstrate excellent customer service
  • Problem-solvers who can communicate effectively with both customers and co-workers 
  • Happy to pitch in and help out where it’s needed, and consider themselves “team players”
  • Hard-working, clean, organized, efficient, and able to work well under pressure
  • Willing to learn, excited about acquiring new skills and knowledge
  • Passionate about coffee: drinkin’ it, makin’ it, talkin’ about it, learning about it!
