Full-Time Barista
Job Description
Kaffe 1668 is looking to fill a single full time, and potentially a secondary part-time, position.
We’re looking for a barista/cashier position that necessitates scheduling flexibility, customer accommodation, and reliable team skills. Pay range is dependent on bar skills such as time management, espresso dial-ins, and latte art: anywhere from $13-15 once our coffee program manager verifies your ability.
*Weekend availability- strong preference to applicants who can offer either day equally.
*Ability to switch roles over the course of a shift- will fill the role of barista, as well as runner and cashier. In off-rush hours cleaning as well as next day prep.
*Know the essentials of daily bar maintenance and bar cleanliness.
*The responsibility of acquainting themselves with our coffee supplier’s (Spectrum) offerings- applicants will have to familiarize themselves with the multiple single origin coffees, and the espresso blend itself. Spectrum offers excellent coffees from all over the globe, roasted to suit the inherent flavors, and their company works closely with ours to keep our machines maintained and our staff trained.
However, we are not adverse to hiring a part-time position lacking bar experience. Such a position would primarily require schedule flexibility, and should the applicant be a natural well-disposed fit, we would invest formal coffee training with the goal of expanding their role and responsibility. For this secondary position, previous service experience would still be necessary, as well as an apparent strong affinity for customer service. We are not in a rush to fill this position, and it would start at $13/hr.
About Us:
Our location sees relatively little employee turnover, and the bond between the staff has grown strong and flexible in regards to each other as well as the tasks at hand. Role redundancy is desirable for any day, with the veteran staff trained to fill in roles and cover for one another. While we are looking to hire soon, we are more committed to finding the right team member.
Alongside the staff and the actual space, our coffee program is also one of our strongest suits. Spectrum sources and roasts everything exactingly in pursuit of a clean tasting cup, which makes life easier for the bar side staff- dialing in the expresso blend isn’t a confusing chore. The clarity of the roasts is self-evident in trained hands.
How to Apply
To be considered, applicants must provide their resume and a short cover letter via email. If we find both acceptable we'll reach out for a formal interview in the coming week at our location. During the interview, if our Spectrum representative is present, they may take a look at your skills in practice; if they are not, then a separate date can be found to verify these. This is not an audition- merely a chance to gauge where you stand as a barista. Please address emails to kaffemgmt@gmail.com1638 total views, 1 today
