Job Description

Cafe Integral is looking for great professionals to join our team as a Barista at our Coffee Bar located in Soho/Nolita that allows us to grow together.

Our espresso bar aims to present our coffees with the same distinguished craft and consistent excellence we display at every stage, all the while breeding a sense of warmth and community that is at the core of Nicaraguan hospitality.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an specialty coffee barista
• Energetic, approachable, pleasant personality and a passion for hospitality

passionate about coffee and a self-motivated with the capability of working with little supervision.

• Calm and focused demeanor
• Excellent work ethic
• Team player
• Flexible schedule – available to work full-time, weekdays, weekends, open and close shifts
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and to climb stairs
• Experience with La Marzocco or equivalent espresso machines and doserless grinders
• Must have Certificate of Safe Food Handling  or willing to obtain within 30 day after hiring

Duties & Responsibilities

The Barista will be responsible for the following during his/her shift:

• Adhere to Café Integral’s policies and protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work space to facilitate efficient and speedy service.
• Ensure Cafe Integral’s brand is properly reflected by keeping a well maintained, clean, well-organized and stocked coffee bar in line with visual standards.
• Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products and equipment.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Prepare specialty beverages while maintaining quality and standards as well as correct product preparation.
• Offer relevant, thoughtful suggestions and ideas for improving operations and strategy in input to increase store profitability.
• Learn and demonstrate thorough knowledge of coffee offerings and capacity to inform customers.
• Demonstrate initiative with routine tasks.
• Assist in training and development of new staff.
• Open and Close shop with diligence.

Compensation:

• Compensation based on level of experience, performance and desire to excel.
