Barista

Baristas are responsible for running the bar to Irving Farm New York standards, and delivering outstanding customer service. Our baristas will develop a thorough knowledge of our coffees and maintain quality in all offerings.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have open availability and a willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends
• At least 12 months experience as barista preferred, preferably at a high volume café
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Preference will be given to those with a NYS Food Handler’s license; obtaining a license within 30 days of hire will be a requirement of the position
• Ability to work with others
• Detail oriented
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time

General Responsibilities:

• Practice proper cleaning and preventative maintenance for espresso and brewing equipment
• Be knowledgeable about new coffee offerings and participate in tastings of new coffees
• Follow Irving Farm standards for opening and closing procedures
• Uphold and maintain the standards of Irving Farm New York
• Make drinks in a consistent manner
• Provide service in a fun, friendly and efficient way
• Maintain a clean and functioning bar
• Happily assist staff from other departments when requested and where able
• Stay informed and educated on industry trends and developments
• Register and Customer Service
