Established south Brooklyn coffee shop seeking baristas!

Marine Park Coffee started as a 200 square foot owner-operated coffee shop in an area of south Brooklyn that had no previous access to great coffee. We have now grown to a staff of 3, and are looking for additional baristas to help open our new location at 3411 Avenue S in Marine Park, Brooklyn. You will have the opportunity to work at both locations (located less than a 7 minute walk from each other) in a very relaxed neighborhood and shop environment. No formal dress code, listen to the music that you like — what we care about is hiring genuinely nice people who are trustworthy and love coffee. Do you live in south or central Brooklyn and are tired of commuting to the city or other far-flung parts of Brooklyn? If so, Marine Park Coffee might be the perfect place for you!

* $14/hour + tips. We are actively working to move all staff up to $15/hour
* Looking for folks who want to work 30+ hours a week
* The usual responsibilities: ringing up customers, preparing drinks, serving pastries, keeping the store tidy
* Shop is open 7 days a week, morning shifts are generally 6:30am-11:30am, afternoon shifts are generally 11:30am-4pm. We are looking to extend hours to 6pm at the new location during select days after it opens. Lots of opportunity for hours
* Relaxed environment with no micromanaging, plenty of autonomy, and your input and voice will direct how the shop grows
* Owner (that’s me) lives in between both shops and actively works barista shifts alongside everyone else
* Many opportunities to further your coffee education via our wholesale coffee partner

Requirements:

* Previous barista experience. In the future we will be able to train brand new employees with no barista experience, but for now we are a small team and are looking for folks with basic barista knowledge and experience
* Must have New York Food Handlers Permit. Again, we are a small team, and there are times you will be working solo, so our next few baristas will need to have their permit until we can build out a more robust team
