The RUBBER N’ ROAD Specialty Coffee Bar is New York’s hub for the finest in global cycling and coffee culture.

The bar serves single origin light roast coffees from THE BARN BERLIN as pour-over and espresso.

The Role and The Candidate

We are seeking to have experienced and passionate baristas to join our team. A friendly, welcoming attitude, and obsession for extraordinary customer service are a must. The barista will be charged with maintaining and operating the coffee bar to Rubber N’ Road’s standards.

The barista should have deep knowledge of coffee and global coffee culture, and should hold quality and cleanliness to the highest degree.

If you’re passionate about coffee, and want to work in an alternative setting to any other coffee bar in New York City, a place where conversation and quality comes first, this can be the place for you. A global experience and interest or background in cycling are a plus!

General Responsibilities:
Practice proper operation and frequent cleaning and maintenance of all coffee and espresso equipment, tools and related items.
Follow opening and closing procedures.
Uphold and maintain the quality and customer service standards of Rubber N’ Road
Make drinks in a consistent manner
Provide excellent customer service
Represent Rubber N’ Road, and cycling, in a positive and friendly light
Maintain a clean and functioning bar
Be responsive and punctual to communications from management
Operate Register and Customer Service

Qualifications and Requirements:
At least 2 years of speciality cafe / barista experience
Possess outstanding customer service skills
Possess excellent knowledge of coffee with a refined palate
Possess an NYC Food Handler’s License (required of applicant)
Detail and cleanliness oriented
Be willing to work on weekends & flexible hours
