Seeking an experienced barista for Mo’s General, in the heart of Williamsburg steps from the Lorimer St. L Train stop and near McCarren Park.

Mo’s is open 8am-9pm; operating as a coffee shop / bakery in the morning and then serving all naturally leavened square slices all day, starting at noon. We’re also a provisions shop indoors, and have a takeout window to sell slices on the go.

Barista: You’ll be the face of our brand and responsible for our guest’s coffee & beverage experiences.

Responsibilities include ensuring our counter is clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus, and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, we’d like to meet you.

Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us attract customers and build great relationships with our neighbors in the community.

Essential Job Functions:

-Execute high quality high volume coffee program with professionalism and consistency

-Prepare Counter with special attention to sanitation and order.

-Attend to customers upon entrance

-Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages.

-Take and serve orders.

-Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products

-Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude handling orders and accept payment

Education:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)Required

Experience: Minimum 1-year server experience. Must have excellent knowledge of cafe and service procedures and functions. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.

Open availability; must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Possess strong organizational and multitasking skills

Highly responsible & reliable

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work cohesively with coworkers as part of a team

Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers

Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others

Professional presentation and positive attitude

Barista experience is a plus

Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time are available

Pay: From $18.00 per hour + gratuities, based on experience
