Sofreh Café

A new concept located in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Sofreh Café is a stand-alone bakery/café specializing in Persian breads, pastries, and Iranian tea blends. Part of a larger restaurant concept this location is committed to onsite scratch production utilizing authentic recipes, outstanding ingredients, and great people. We are seeking a barista to join our team. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in the hospitality industry. Qualifications:
– At least 1 year of experience operating in a high-volume specialty coffee setting (latte art is a plus)
– Dial in espresso and other brew methods to meet and maintain quality standards
– Ability to work on your feet a minimum of 8 hours a day, lift 30lbs and climb stairs
– Weekends Availability is a MUST
– Prompt and able to work early AM shift
– Preference will be given to those with an NYC Food Handler’s Certificate
Responsibilities:
– Promotes our brand by educating customers; selling coffee, tea and pastries
– Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
– Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
– Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
– Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
