Job Description

Here at Sip and Co, we are focused on providing great coffee, simple and delicious breakfast and lunch options, and excellent customer service to all of our diverse clientele. We are currently looking for a cashier/barista to join our team.

Don’t hesitate to apply even if you do not have extensive barista experience, as we are willing to train accordingly so long as you share the same passion and energy that we are seeking here at the cafe. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Greeting customers as they enter and guiding them through our menu options if they have any questions.
Processing transactions while accurately noting details about coffee orders, such as milk type, iced or hot, sizes where applicable, for here or to go, etc.
Brewing filter coffee, serving cold brew, handing out pastries and other items, and expediting food items to customers whenever necessary. Making drinks will also be applicable further into the training process.
Keeping the bar area and dining areas clean and restocked.
Coordinating with the kitchen to expedite food items.
Helping with the dish bins and sinks, cleaning and sanitizing dining room and outdoor seating area when we have time.
Complying with health and safety regulations, we are required to wear a mask while at work and to notify a manager if there are any COVID-related symptoms.

We are a very small team, and we all work together to keep the cafe operations running smoothly. We currently have available shifts on the weekends and some weekdays. Shifts typically range from 5 to 7 hours each day. Pay starts at $15 as cashiers and $16 as baristas (based on experience), with tips ranging from $10 to $13/hr.
