Rigor Hill Market is a new neighborhood market and cafe in Tribeca. We sell fantastic produce our partner farm, Rigor Hill Farm and other producers in the Hudson Valley. We also sell freshly baked bread and pastries, great coffee, and a small lunch menu.
We are looking for a lead barista to add to our team of friendly and caring individuals. If you have barista experience and are enthusiastic about hospitality, we would love to talk to you about joining our team!
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a kind and outgoing barista. The barista’s responsibilities will include providing excellent coffee service as well as maintaining a pristine storefront throughout opening hours.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Provide warm and genuine guest service, including but not limited to taking, packing/checking out orders and making coffee
• Maintain knowledge of all goods sold in the store, such that you can thoughtfully discuss sourcing and how to use specific ingredients with guests
• Maintain a beautiful and clean storefront
• Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities
• Ensure company policies, procedures and brand standards are always followed
• Follow Health & Safety and Food Safety standards
• Complete other duties as assigned by management
The Ideal Candidate:
Is a friendly and kind-hearted team player with a sense of urgency and an ability to multitask. Has barista experience and knowledge of or interest in cooking and ingredients. Is a true Hospitalitarian who naturally delivers warmth, grace, and a memorable feeling to every person they encounter. Lastly, this person is committed to exceeding personal standards of growth and performance for themselves and their team.
Requirements:
• Genuine interest in hospitality and good products!
• Food Handler’s permit (within 30 days of hiring)
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
• Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform
essential functions
• Ability to perform essential job functions when working under stress, in fast-paced environments
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work weekends and holidays, and variable schedule per needs of the business
• Polished personal presentation: grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee
Handbook
• Bachelor’s Degree, Certification or relevant job experience preferred
