public records is hiring an all-star barista for our cafe. connecting a vegan restaurant, music venue, and bar in a hi-fi, music-driven space, our team works closely together to maintain a high level of excellence and attention to detail in all areas

working under the cafe manager, you will be responsible for helping to open and close the cafe, maintain a retail space, and serve excellent coffee to cool people

**this position is for our weekend cafe hours, so weekend availability is a must. there will be opportunity to move to full-time as our weekday cafe business + menu expands with warmer weather

the cafe:
– we use primarily light roast coffees from third-wave roasters
– the space is both a cafe and a store for independent magazines, curated records, and PR apparel
– on weekends, the cafe operates independently while also making drinks for seated brunch guests

the job:
– top notch ability to dial in espresso and follow brew parameters
– be fast on your feet, organized, and able to maintain extreme cleanliness during peak and off hours
– comfort producing latte art with non-dairy milk, using basic bar tools to make elevated seasonal drinks, and handling various types of glassware
– weekend availability is required

must have a new york food handlers card or be willing to obtain one within 30 days of hiring
