Job Description

We are seeking an experienced barista to join our small team at BLU Cafe, located at the border of Riverside Blvd. BLU CAFÉ is a neighborhood establishment situated close to Riverside park, with a growing business and a busy shop. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, live locally, love coffee, and have a genuine spirit of hospitality to handle long lines.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and tea beverages
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including equipment cleaning and restocking supplies
• Manage cash register and sales transactions accurately
• Ensure a smooth and efficient workflow during busy periods
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 1 year of high-volume barista experience
• A valid food handler’s license
• NYC experience preferred
• Previous training in specialty coffee preferred
• Proficiency in using manual espresso machines and basic latte art skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask, work efficiently and maintain a clean workspace
• Punctuality and ability to work early shifts, weekends and holidays as necessary
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in a small space and lift up to 30 lbs

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16-18 per hour, depending on experience.
