Commune (@communebedstuy) is a membership based social club and event space featuring a specialty coffee program and a bar opening Summer 2023. The Commune Coffee Cart, our debut specialty coffee venture, launched in May 2022 outside the Bed-Stuy headquarters. We work exclusively with Coava Coffee, an award winning roaster based in Portland, as their sole purveyor in NYC.

This June, we are launching our partnership with LOCALS BKNY in Fort Greene, serving Coava Coffee and offering indoor seating.

We are looking for 1-2 experienced baristas to join our growing team working across 2 locations. The ideal candidate has a genuine spirit of hospitality, lives locally, is a team player and loves coffee.

Qualifications:
– 1 year of high volume barista experience
– A food handler’s license
– Experience in NYC preferred
– Previous training in specialty coffee preferred
– Experience on a manual machine and basic latte art skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– The ability to multi-task, work efficiently and maintain a clean work space
– Punctuality
– Availability to work early shifts, weekends and holidays as necessary
– This position will require frequent standing in a 40 sq ft space. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and use steep stairs.
