Company Description:

New cafe with specialty coffee, pastries, counter service sandwiches, and dry good groceries opening in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn (F/G trains) next month. Exciting opportunity to work and collaborate with owner/operator in a positive environment with a focus on thoughtful and straightforward food and drink.  Looking for someone enthusiastic and knowledgeable about specialty coffee who is dependable and values customer service. Opportunity to help shape cafe operations and coffee program. Our own brand of coffee is roasted in Brooklyn.

Requirements:

Specialty coffee experience, Flexible availability, NYS Food Handlers License or willingness to obtain one upon hire, Excellent customer service, Interest in specialty coffee industry, knowledgeable about coffee/food offerings, Knowledge of food safety/health code standards, health inspection procedures, Ability to lift and carry at least 15 lbs.

 Responsibilities:

• Operating Square POS system, providing efficient and friendly customer service
• Preparing and serving consistently well-made coffee beverages, latte art a plus but not required
• Staying knowledgeable about products, and educating new and repeat customers on drink/food offerings
• Keeping a clean and functional back bar station throughout shift and clean up at the end of shift
• Maintaining the pastry case, serving tea, pastries, etc.
• Occasionally assisting with sandwich and food preparation
• Keeping a clean and organized BOH, customer seating area, and bathroom throughout the shift
• Ensuring store is well-stocked and maintained
• Opening and closing responsibilities
