About Us

Ioannis Coffee Chef is a specialty coffee roaster and neighborhood café in Manhattan’s East Village. We take pride in freshly roasted coffee, quality beverages, genuine hospitality, and creating a welcoming environment for our customers.

We’re looking for a reliable, motivated, and customer-focused barista who is passionate about coffee, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced café environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare espresso beverages, drip coffee, cold brew, matcha, chai, and seasonal specialty drinks according to café recipes.
* Dial in espresso equipment and maintain consistent beverage quality.
* Provide friendly, efficient customer service and process orders using Square POS.
* Complete opening and closing procedures, including equipment cleaning, register reconciliation, and digital checklists.
* Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow food safety and sanitation standards.
* Rotate food products using FIFO and complete daily pastry and milk counts.
* Restock supplies and communicate inventory or operational needs to management.
* Assist with coffee packaging and roasting-related tasks when needed.
* Work collaboratively with management and teammates to maintain smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

* Minimum 1 year of barista or café experience required.
* Experience with espresso machines and grinders preferred.
* Latte art skills are a plus.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Dependable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented.
* Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy periods.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Availability for morning and weekend shifts.
* NYC Food Protection Certificate is needed.
