Job Description

Here at Ground Central, we’re looking for both baristas and counter people. We have locations in Midtown East and the Financial District.

Counter person: must feel comfortable using a POS system, be hospitable, pleasant, enjoy meeting new people, learning about our products and brand. YOU will be the face of our shop by greeting people and building a rapport with customers.

Barista: must feel comfortable with microfoam, latte art, posses basic skills with dialing in, be clean and hygienic on the bar. Since we are one of the few coffee shops in NY using the type of espresso machine we use, we will train you, but basic skills are a must for us to proceed.

There are no uniforms or dress codes, we want people to bring their individual energy and flair to our team. Both candidates must be willing to be part of a team, care about their tasks and jobs at hand, be on time, and be interested in building this expanding brand with us. Counter people will have the option to train as baristas in the future if interested.

Compensation starts at 12, plus tips, and we can discuss going upwards based on experience. A Food Handler’s will push you to the front of the queue.
