Nourish Kitchen + Table – LEAD Barista / Cafe Server Position

Nourish Kitchen + Table, a seasonally-driven café and catering company in the West Village, is seeking an energetic, hard-working lead barista to join our family and become an integral member of our team. We are looking for candidates who take pride in excellent coffee service;  fresh, healthful food; and seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for providing excellent hospitality and customer service as well as a warm experience to our guests. 

Candidates should: show initiative, be hard-working, responsible, confident and calm in a small, busy kitchen space, solid communicators, enthusiastic team players, resourceful, passionate about food and health, and excited to be part of a fresh concept that has dynamic growth potential.

Responsibilities include:
Overseeing all ordering of coffee and paper good products
Overseeing inventory
Leading Coffee program / trainings
Daily Maintenance of Coffee / Espresso equipment
Consistently meeting all DOH standards
Maintaining high standard of cleanliness and maintenance of store
Be an efficient and knowledgeable point-person for the other FOH staff
Effectively navigating Customer relations
Thinking on your feet

To be considered, you should have: 

* management / leadership experience
*At least 1-2 years barista, restaurant and/or catering experience
*NYC Food Handler’s Certificate (or be willing to acquire within 30 days of employment)

*A proactive nature and leadership abilities
*Attention to cleanliness, organization and kitchen procedures
*Ability to work closely and collaboratively with other staff
*An eye for detail and aesthetic in food plating and how it holds/looks on our service counter
*A positive attitude and a genuine love for food, people and creating an inviting/infectious “energy” within our space
*Excellent references
