Job Description

Solid State Coffee is a cafe and roaster on the Upper West Side of Manhattan at 71st and Columbus Ave. We are a coffee forward shop with an extensive baking and food program. We primarily serve single origin coffees and one seasonal blend that we rotate heavily between various brewing methods.

We are looking for an experienced barista to join the team for 3-5 shifts on a weekly basis including at least one weekend day as we look to expand hours in the near future.

The ideal candidate is first and foremost a person who is kind to others. We have built a loyal following through serving excellent products as well as making the cafe a place that feels good to be in. We also strive to be good coworkers to one another so we as a staff enjoy our time at work together.

In addition, you would have experience brewing and serving light roast coffees and be able to get the most out of any given coffee on various brewing methods -especially in a specialty coffee cafe setting. Being able to move through rushes quickly and efficiently without compromising quality is also imperative.
Some heavy lifting required/travelling up and down stairs/etc required.

$16/hr + tips with room to grow based on performance
