Job Description

Small neighborhood coffee shop in the Greenwich Village/NYU area looking to employ a Barista with a wide availability to help manage customer orders, craft beverages with strong attention to detail, routinely maintain facilities, and provide a welcoming atmosphere for the surrounding community.

Previous experience in crafts or trade, food service, hospitality, or cash handling are a plus.

Must be willing to complete NYC Food Protection Course online and in-person final exam if not already done.

Our hours of operation are 7:30AM – 7:30PM weekdays, 8:30AM – 7:30PM weekends.

Responsibilities:
-Greet customers.
-Maintain set standards and continuously develop skills.
-Accurately input orders into POS system.
-Make drinks and food according to set recipe.
-Deliver orders in a timely manner.
-Inform customers about specials.
-Provide enthusiastic advice about products when asked.
-Work with other employees to ensure an excellent customer journey.
-Routinely maintain cleanliness of store daily, weekly, and monthly
-Maintain clean and hygienic personal appearance at all times.
-Lift up to 60lbs worth of products multiple times a day
-Other jobs as necessary

Qualifications:
-1 year of experience. (preferred)
-Familiarity with POS.
-Ability to stay calm, organized, and efficient when busy.
-Flexibility and willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
-High school diploma/GED preferred.
-Willingness to memorize a number of drinks and their ingredients.
-Enthusiasm for all things coffee and tea.

Base Pay: $15.50 / hr + Tips
+$1 for Food Handlers Certificate
Tips are typically an additional $3-6 / hr.
